How to perform a Custom installation of Windows 10

A custom installation of Windows is a reinstallation of Windows using a Windows file where you can keep files, but this will remove the programs installed on your computer (ex. chrome, mcafee and other third party applications that does not come with Windows)

1. Create a bootable media first, you can follow the steps on this link:https://whattoknowin2020.blogspot.com/2020/03/how-to-create-bootable-media-in-windows.html
2. Once your USB device is ready, plug it on the affected computer that you want to repair or reinstall windows 10 with, restart your computer 3 times using a power button there, each time it turns on, turn it off right away.
3. On the third restart, you will see the computer "automatically repairing" on its own, and once done, you will see that it might fail and you will see this image.
4. Select "Advanced Options" and you will see the "USE A DEVICE"
5. Select your USB and you should be able to see the Windows 10 setup where it asks you to setup your Language, keyboard layout, and Region.
6. Accept terms and conditions, and whether you have a product key for newly installed windows or just doing a custom installation, you can skip the product key part.

7. Choose if you want  to install Windows 10 Home or Professional.
8. Choose "Custom"
9. After you choose the custom, you will see "where do you want to install windows". NOTE: this is a very critical part, if you want to keep files you must NEVER delete any drives there, and instead, choose the drive where the Windows is installed, its usually the DRIVE C (its a primary drive as well) similar to this page:

10.  Click next once you selected the drive and you will see this pop up.

this pop up means that the windows will automatically back up your files to a Windows.old folder, it will save documents, photos, folders, music, and any office files you have on your Windows, click "ok" and the Windows will start the Custom installation.

REMINDER: at the end of this installation, it will restart the computer, once it restarts, remove the USB so that the installation can finish.
